The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested several suspected drug traffickers following coordinated anti-drug operations in parts of the Greater Accra and Oti Regions.
In a statement shared on Monday, May 18, NACOC said the intelligence-led operations formed part of its ongoing nationwide campaign to clamp down on illicit drug trafficking and substance abuse.

The operations targeted known drug hotspots including Kisseiman, Dome, and Kwabenya in the Greater Accra Region, where officers retrieved quantities of suspected narcotic substances and other items believed to be linked to drug activity.

A separate operation was also conducted at Alavanyo in the Oti Region, leading to additional arrests and seizures.
NACOC says the exercise is aimed at dismantling criminal networks involved in the distribution of illegal drugs, especially in densely populated communities.

All suspects are currently assisting with investigations and are expected to be prosecuted upon completion of inquiries.
The Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to intensifying operations against drug trafficking and warned individuals engaged in the illegal trade to desist or face the full force of the law.
