Parliament is scheduled to resume sitting on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, for the Third Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic, following its adjournment sine die on July 31.
Proceedings are expected to begin at 10:00 a.m. at Parliament House in Accra, according to a notice issued by the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, on Tuesday, October 20.

The notice was issued in accordance with Order 58 of Parliament’s Standing Orders, which empowers the Speaker to announce the commencement of a meeting of the House.
Although the House adjourned sine die at the end of July, Parliament was recalled on two occasions during the recess to consider urgent matters.
The first recall took place in August, following a request from President John Dramani Mahama for an emergency meeting to address matters requiring parliamentary attention ahead of a planned October recall.
Addressing the House at the time, Speaker Bagbin said he had received a letter from the President dated August 11, 2026, requesting Parliament’s return for a five-day emergency sitting scheduled to end on August 28.
Parliament was subsequently recalled on September 29 following a request from the Minority Caucus for an emergency meeting to discuss what it described as urgent national security concerns arising from narcotics seizures linked to Ghana.
