Jessica Hartog and three others remanded over alleged $260m cocaine shipment

Jessica Hartog, owner of Euro Spa and Beauty Lounge at Shiashie, and three other people have been remanded by an Accra High Court in connection with an alleged attempt to export nearly four tonnes of cocaine from Ghana to France.

The other accused persons are businessman Desmond Koranteng Curiel, also known as Paul Kweku Yeboah or “Biggs”, Musah Attah alias “Kromo”, and Kweku Otchere.

The case follows the seizure of a 40-foot container at the Port of Dunkirk in France in September 2026. The container, reportedly shipped from Ghana, had been declared as carrying plastic waste.

According to the prosecution, French authorities discovered suspected prohibited substances concealed in the consignment, with the shipment estimated to have a street value of about US$260 million.

Hartog and Curiel were arrested by officers of the Narcotics Control Commission at Ashaley Botwe on September 12, while Otchere was arrested at his residence in East Legon the same day. Musah Attah later surrendered to NACOC on September 14.

Investigators reportedly recovered three firearms, ammunition, four luxury vehicles, passports and various amounts of money during searches linked to the arrests.

All four accused persons pleaded not guilty and were remanded into lawful custody. They are expected to return to court on October 13, 2026.

Dutch national Jos Leijdekkers, popularly known as “Bolle Jos”, has reportedly been named as a fifth suspect and remains at large.

The prosecution says investigations are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the alleged shipment and identify any other persons who may have been involved.
