President John Dramani Mahama has held discussions with the Managing Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Makhtar Diop, on strengthening Ghana’s partnership with the global development finance institution in key areas of the economy.
The meeting, held at the Jubilee House on Thursday, September 17, focused on opportunities for collaboration in commercial agriculture, energy, digital connectivity, and transport infrastructure under the government’s flagship Big Push programme.
According to the President, the government’s emphasis on fiscal discipline is contributing to Ghana’s ongoing economic recovery, with falling inflation and renewed investor confidence cited as indicators of progress.
President Mahama also highlighted a $300 million World Bank facility secured to support efforts to end the double-track system in senior high schools by 2027.
The President said the IFC’s commitment to Ghana’s value-addition agenda and commercial agriculture vision would provide additional support for the country’s efforts to transform agriculture and promote sustainable economic growth.
