The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, open nominations for its constituency executive elections as the party advances its internal reorganisation process.
The announcement was contained in a press release dated September 10 and signed by Deputy General Secretary Barbara Serwaa Asamoah on behalf of the General Secretary.
“The National Secretariat wishes to inform all Constituencies and members that nominations for the 2026 Constituency Executive Elections will officially open on Tuesday, 15th September 2026, to commence the process as outlined in the general timetable earlier released,” the statement said.
The party described the opening of nominations as “an important stage in the Party’s electoral process” and encouraged members seeking to contest the various constituency executive positions to take advantage of the process within the prescribed period.
The NDC said all payments relating to the picking and filing of nomination forms must be made strictly through its online portal, forms.ghanandc.com, using mobile money across all networks.
It added that aspirants, proposers, seconders and endorsers must be members in good standing of the party and must have fully settled their membership dues for the last four years.
Members with outstanding dues have been directed to settle their arrears via 92025# or through the party’s dues platform.
The latest directive also officially opens campaign activities for the 2026 internal elections at the constituency, regional and national levels.
“By virtue of this notice, campaign activities by all aspirants contesting the Party’s 2026 internal elections are hereby officially opened at the Constituency, Regional and National levels.”
The party said aspirants are permitted to commence their campaigns in accordance with its rules, regulations and directives governing the electoral process.
Party officials, from regional and constituency officers to ward coordinators, have also been directed to allow campaign activities by aspirants within their respective jurisdictions.
However, the NDC clarified that the campaign window does not extend to persons pursuing parliamentary ambitions, including sitting Members of Parliament and individuals currently considering or expressing an intention to contest parliamentary elections.
“For the avoidance of doubt, this campaign window does not extend to persons who are pursuing or intend to pursue Parliamentary ambitions, including sitting Members of Parliament and persons currently considering or expressing an intention to contest Parliamentary elections,” the statement said.
The party warned that such persons must not engage in campaigning activities under the window and that any violation would be dealt with in accordance with its rules and regulations.
The NDC constituency executive elections are scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026.
Nominations will run from September 15 to 17, followed by filing on September 23 and 24. Vetting is scheduled for September 25 to 27, while appeals will take place from September 29 to October 1.
The constituency elections form part of a broader internal reorganisation process that will subsequently move to the regional and national levels. Regional executive elections are scheduled for November 14 and 15, while the party’s National Congress, at which national executives will be elected, is scheduled for December 19, 2026.
The NDC has urged constituencies, aspirants and members to maintain discipline and respect throughout the electoral process.
“The National Secretariat urges all Constituencies, aspirants and members to conduct themselves with discipline, decorum and respect for the Party’s democratic values throughout the electoral process,” the statement said.
The party also called for the full cooperation of its members and constituencies to ensure a transparent, peaceful, orderly and successful electoral process.
