The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations (MoCDTI), through the One Million Coders Programme (OMCP), has commenced a five-day Training of Trainers programme in Datacom and Access Network Technologies.
The training, which began today, Monday, August 31, 2026, is being held at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (GI-KACE) and will run until Friday, September 4, 2026.
The programme forms part of Government’s continued efforts to build a critical mass of skilled ICT trainers who will, in turn, extend practical digital and networking skills to citizens across the country under the One Million Coders Programme.
The Training of Trainers programme is being delivered by certified technical experts from Huawei Technologies and combines expert-led lectures with hands-on practical sessions and competency assessments.
Participants will undergo intensive training in key areas of Datacom and Access Network Technologies, with sessions running daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
As part of the post-training obligation, participants who successfully complete the programme are expected to serve as certified OMCP trainers and cascade the knowledge and skills acquired by training a minimum of twenty (20) members of the public.
The initiative is expected to further strengthen Ghana’s digital skills ecosystem and support the Government’s broader vision of equipping citizens with relevant technological competencies for the evolving digital economy.
The One Million Coders Programme remains a key national initiative aimed at developing a digitally skilled workforce and positioning Ghana to take advantage of opportunities presented by the rapidly growing digital and technology sector.
