Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations Samuel Nartey George has called on Corporate Ghana to partner Government in developing the country’s digital workforce.
He urged technology companies, telecom operators, financial institutions and other private sector organisations to contribute through internships, mentorship, scholarships, equipment donations and employment opportunities.
According to him, businesses will ultimately benefit from the digitally skilled workforce being developed through the One Million Coders Programme.
The Minister said achieving the programme’s objective of training one million Ghanaians requires sustained collaboration among government, academia and industry.
He acknowledged the contributions of Google, MTN, Telecel, Huawei and partner Agencies towards the implementation of the initiative.
