President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated Ghana’s commitment to attracting foreign investment, using a meeting with Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers to highlight the government’s flagship economic initiatives aimed at boosting exports and driving economic growth.
The meeting took place at the Presidency on Tuesday, July 21, as part of Governor Evers’ trade mission to Accra.
During the engagement, President Mahama outlined key government initiatives, including the 24-Hour Economy programme and the newly established Accelerated Export Development Advisory Committee, which he said are intended to position Ghana as a competitive, export-driven economy.

The President also expressed Ghana’s interest in strengthening agricultural cooperation and exploring other business opportunities with the US state of Wisconsin.
According to the Presidency, the Governor’s visit reflects growing international confidence in Ghana’s economy following the successful completion of the country’s International Monetary Fund (IMF) programme.
Governor Evers, who is leading a business delegation, reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening global partnerships and promoting Wisconsin as an attractive destination for investment and business growth.

The meeting forms part of efforts to deepen economic cooperation between Ghana and the United States while expanding opportunities for trade and investment.
