Spokesperson for the Campaign Team of the 2028 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has broken his silence after his release from EOCO cells. Mr. Aboagye was released yesterday after meeting his GHc50 million with three sureties’ bail condition. This follows his arrest at the airport upon return from the United Kingdom on Sunday July 12.
According a statement from EOCO, the former Executive Secretary to the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralization was picked up over a GHc55 million probe. But in a social media post, Dennis Miracles Aboagye disclosed there was no talk of the said amount during interrogation by EOCO.
“FOR THE RECORDS: THERE WAS NO Discussion OF ANY GHc55million cedis with me by EOCO. None!!!” he posted. According to him, his arrest has rather increased his resolve to work for the New Patriotic Party.
Mr. Aboagye accused EOCO of putting out a false narrative, arguing the truth shall prevail sooner than later.
“Four days ago, just one day after I declared my intention to serve our great party as National Communications Director, I was picked up and detained by EOCO. A false narrative was put out about my arrest, but Ghanaians are not fools, and neither are the good people of the New Patriotic Party. The facts and the truth will prevail!!” he assured.
The National Communications Director aspirant for the NPP in the post expressed appreciation to the party supporters, his lawyers, and all who stood by him during his ordeal.
