A 25-year-old Community Police Assistant stationed at Ajumako Bisease in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region has been injured after being stabbed while attempting to arrest a suspected criminal.
The victim, identified as Obed Twum, sustained serious injuries during the incident, which occurred when he reportedly responded to a disturbance in the area.
According to information gathered, he rushed to the scene after hearing a commotion and allegedly identified a man suspected to be wanted by police for criminal activities in the community.
Eyewitnesses say the officer attempted to apprehend the suspect, identified only as Yaw, when the suspect suddenly pulled out a knife and stabbed him before fleeing the scene.

The injured officer was left bleeding heavily before residents rushed him to the Ajumako Bisease Polyclinic, where he is currently receiving treatment. Medical officials say his condition is stable.
The incident has sparked fear among residents, with many calling for intensified police efforts to track down the suspect and improve security in the area.
The police have launched an investigation into the attack and are pursuing the suspect, who is currently on the run.
No arrest has yet been made.
