The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery attack at the Kwafokrom GOIL Filling Station near Nsawam in the Eastern Region, during which a security guard and a fuel attendant were shot and injured.
The suspects, identified as Amos Boame and Collins Adjei, were arrested following investigations into the incident which occurred on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
A police statement issued on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and signed by DSP David Fianko-Okyere of the Public Affairs Unit, confirmed that investigators are currently pursuing a third suspect identified only as Ashivie, believed to have participated in the operation.
According to the statement, police retrieved several items believed to have been used in the robbery, including an Alder Tupal pump-action gun with serial number 245A-12944, an electronic shocker, a cutlass, and a bulletproof vest.
The suspects allegedly shot the security guard and a pump attendant after the victims took refuge in an office within the station.
Police further disclosed that the robbers made away with GH¢13,460 in cash during the attack.
Investigators also recovered nineteen spent cartridges and one live round of ammunition from the scene.
The injured victims are currently receiving treatment and are reported to be in stable condition.
The Eastern South Regional Police Command says efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspect and dismantle the wider criminal network.
Authorities have assured residents and businesses in the area of strengthened security measures, urging calm as investigations continue.
