Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has terminated the contract for the 18.7-kilometre Bogoso–Prestea Road and Critical Access Roads project.
The termination follows the failure of the contractor, Black Oak Developers, to mobilise to site and fully commence work on the project.
The road project, considered a critical route in the Western Region, has faced prolonged delays amid growing concerns from residents and road users over its deteriorating condition.
Authorities say the decision forms part of efforts to ensure accountability and guarantee timely execution of critical infrastructure projects across the country.
Further details on the next steps regarding the continuation of the project are yet to be announced.
