The Twifo Praso Magistrate Court in the Central Region has fined two invigilators and two teachers GH¢3,000 each for their involvement in examination malpractice during the ongoing 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The court, presided over by His Worship Cephas Atidzoe Esq., convicted the four after they were found culpable in separate offences at their examination centres.
The convicted persons are David Kwabena Mensah, Ruth Ampah, Millicent Marfo and Kennedy Anokye.
According to the court, David Kwabena Mensah was found guilty of leaking examination questions in breach of the West African Examinations Council Act, 2006. He reportedly used a mobile phone to photograph examination questions and shared them via WhatsApp.
Ruth Ampah was also convicted for allegedly dictating answers to candidates during the examination, contrary to provisions of the Criminal Offences Act and the WAEC Act.
Meanwhile, Millicent Marfo and Kennedy Anokye were found guilty of conspiring to illegally possess examination materials at the Twifo Praso Senior High School Examination Centre.
The convictions come amid renewed concerns over examination malpractice during this year’s BECE across parts of the country.
