Business mogul Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has extended a major lifeline to xenophobia victim Emmanuel Asamoah, offering him GH¢200,000 and a fully supported business opportunity, including plans to set him up with a cement distribution and construction hardware depot in Ghana.

The gesture follows Mr. Mahama’s earlier assurance to the Minister for Foreign Affairs of his commitment to supporting affected Ghanaians abroad. At a meeting held in his office with Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa, he used the platform to make a passionate appeal to Ghanaians living in South Africa to return home and contribute to national development.

He encouraged returnees to explore opportunities within his company or venture into entrepreneurship and vocational trades, pledging support based on individual skills.
Emmanuel Asamoah, who previously ran a nails and hairdressing business in South Africa, has voluntarily chosen to transition into the hardware business upon his return to Ghana.
Mr. Mahama described the GH¢200,000 support as a cushion to allow him a one-month break to reunite with his family before relocating to Accra to begin his new venture.

He also commended Ghana’s High Commissioner to South Africa for what he described as dedicated service to the welfare of Ghanaians living there.
Mr. Mahama urged Emmanuel Asamoah to remain disciplined, focused, and resilient as he embarks on this new business journey.
