A nurse at Ofori Panin Senior High School, identified as Eddie Cann, has been found dead by the roadside at Akyem Kukurantumi in the Abuakwa North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
According to reports, the deceased was discovered lying motionless at the Kukurantumi Junction opposite a washing bay at about 2:00 a.m. on Friday. His motorbike was found beside him at the scene.
Police officers were dispatched to the area after the incident was reported. The officers quickly secured the scene, took inventory of the area, and conveyed the victim to a hospital for emergency attention.
However, he was later confirmed dead.
Authorities say it is still unclear whether Eddie Cann was knocked down by a vehicle while riding his motorbike or if foul play may have been involved.
The Ghana Police Service has since commenced investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Residents and members of the school community have expressed shock over the tragic death.
