Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has described as transformative and a clear success Ghana’s reform journey since the 2022 economic crisis. Dr. Forson made the declaration when he received the IMF Mission team led by Dr. Ruben Atoyan in Accra the Sixth Review of Ghana’s programme with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According the Minister the programme has helped stabilise the economy, restore credibility, and renew hope for Ghanaians.

“Progress does not permit complacency,” the Minister stressed, adding that the focus now is on sustaining the gains and moving to the next phase of reforms.

Dr. Forson noted that government will prioritise policies that support private sector growth, with the goal of turning stability into more investment, more jobs, and more opportunities.

The IMF team described the review as a major milestone and commended Ghana’s progress so far.

Present at the meeting were Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Ampem Nyarko, Chief Director Patrick Nomo, Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama, and First Deputy Governor Dr. Zakari Mumuni.
