Dr. Felix Nana Sackey and Dr. Angela Affran win Okuapemman Past Students’ Association (OPSA) elections

Dr. Felix Nana Sackey and Dr. Angela Affran have emerged victorious in the recent Okuapemman Past Students’ Association elections, securing overwhelming mandates from members.

Dr. Sackey who went unopposed won the presidential race with an impressive 562 votes representing 99% of the total votes cast.

In the Vice-Presidential position which was fiercely contested, Dr. Affran garnered 381 votes, accounting for 66.96% of the total votes cast with the other two contenders securing 17% and 14% respectively.

Dr. Sackey is a distinguished business and infrastructure leader with nearly four decades of experience. He currently serves as Managing Director and equity holder of companies within the mining sector. He is currently the Deputy Chancellor at Noble International Business University (NiBS), where he contributes significantly to the development of future African business leaders.
An accomplished academic, Dr. Sackey holds an MBA in Finance, a second Master’s degree in Applied Research, and a Doctorate in Business Administration. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana.

Dr. Angela Affran, the newly elected Vice President, is a highly organized and resourceful professional with over two decades of experience in inclusive and special needs education. Widely recognized across Ghana and the African continent, she has dedicated her career to designing and implementing programs that support children and young adults with diverse learning needs.
Her academic credentials include a PhD in Special Education from the University of Education, Winneba, and a Master of Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, New York. She also holds a Diploma in Statistics from the University of Ghana, a certificate in Action Research for Citizen-Led Change from the Coady International Institute in Canada.

Dr. Affran has worked in multiple countries, including Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Lesotho, South Africa, Ethiopia, and Nigeria. She has contributed technical expertise to major initiatives in the education sector, and collaborated with Inclusive Development Partners (IDP) on implementing the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Toolkit in Ghana.

Her excellence has been recognized through several honours, including the Best Teacher Award (Science and Mathematics category) for the Akuapem North District in 2005. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Wolfensohn Family Scholarship from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a Ford Foundation International Fellowship.

Together, Dr. Sackey and Dr. Affran bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the Association, with a shared vision to strengthen engagement and accountability within Okuapemman School and the Alumni association.

Other executives elected include Maxwell Adu Okyere as Organizer, Elinda Akosua Adjei as Secretary, and Mabel Boateng as Treasurer.
