Akuapem North MP, Sammi Awuku, has launched the “Sammi Awuku Change Makers Award” at the 96th Anniversary and Speech and Prize-Giving Day of St. Augustine’s College.
The award, an initiative of the 2001 Year Group, will be presented annually for the next six years to one student and one teacher who demonstrate outstanding leadership, integrity, sustainability advocacy and community impact. Each recipient will receive GHS5,000.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Awuku emphasised the school’s legacy of discipline and leadership, urging students to embrace responsibility and strive to make a positive difference in their communities.
He also commended teachers for their role in shaping future leaders.
The ceremony brought together alumni, students, parents and dignitaries, including Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, to celebrate the school’s enduring impact.
