President John Dramani Mahama has assured members of Organised Labour that his government remains committed to transparency, emphasizing that the true state of the economy will always be shared with Ghanaians.
Speaking during a dialogue at Jubilee House in Accra on March 17, 2026, President Mahama stated, “This government has nothing to hide. What you see is what you get. We’ve come a long way from the period where you had two different economic statistics. The statistics that we give you are the true state of the economy.”
He explained that the government will present the size of the national resources before decisions are made on allocation, ensuring that all stakeholders understand the basis for distribution. “If we let you know the size, then you know that the share we are getting is commensurate to what the cake is,” he added.
President Mahama further emphasized that the sustainable way to increase national resources is to grow the economy. “The only way to get a bigger share is to grow the cake bigger, and that is what this government is about,” he said.
The meeting is part of ongoing consultations by the Mahama administration with key stakeholders on wages, economic conditions, and national development priorities.
