Police Continue Search at Royal Lodge as Former Prince Andrew Released Under Investigation

Unmarked police vehicles have arrived at Royal Lodge to continue a search of former Prince Andrew’s former home.

The former prince was released under investigation after his arrest on Thursday on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Mountbatten-Windsor was photographed returning to Sandringham Estate, where he now lives.

The King Charles III, who was not informed of the arrest in advance, released a statement saying, “the law must take its course.” The Prince and Princess of Wales are understood to support his remarks.

The arrest, first reported by the BBC, follows a complaint assessed by Thames Valley Police regarding the alleged sharing of confidential material by the former prince with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein and has not responded to BBC requests for comment regarding the release of millions of Epstein files in January.

As expected, the arrest dominated Friday’s front pages, with newspapers including the Daily Mirror, Daily Express, and The Guardian featuring images of Andrew leaving police custody, accompanied by the King’s statement: “the law must take its course.”
