Ghana’s para-athletics team has departed for Dubai to compete in the 2026 Dubai World Para Athletics Grand Prix, aiming to secure direct qualification for the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
The team includes Botsyo Nkegbe, Zinabu Issah, and Hayford Addai, accompanied by coach Emmanuel Anum Sowah. Addai, a teenage arm-amputee sprinter, will make his international debut and undergo classification as a T47 para-athlete.
– *Zinabu Issah (F57 – Women)*: Shot Put and Discus Throw
– *Hayford Addai (T47 – Men)*: 100m, 200m, 400m, and Long jump
– *Botsyo Nkegbe (T54 – Men)*: 100m, 800m, 1500m
NPC-Ghana thanks the Ghana Olympic Committee for financial support, enabling the team’s participation. The Dubai Grand Prix is the final direct qualifying opportunity for the Commonwealth Games.
