Staff of the Energy Commission are calling for the termination of the appointment of Madam Eunice Biritwum, the current Acting Executive Secretary, citing her alleged refusal to adhere to Board decisions and perceived bias towards the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a statement, the staff expressed concern over Biritwum’s continued tenure, pointing out that she has reached retirement age, having turned 60 on October 17, 2025, with no contract extension in place. They allege she is drawing an “illegal salary and allowances” despite being on pension.
The staff questioned Biritwum’s past affiliations, noting her role as a member of the technical committee of the Energy Commission and CEO of CENIT Energy, a subsidiary of SSNIT, under the previous NPP administration.
The Energy Commission Board and the Chief of Staff are urged to address the situation, with the staff demanding that Biritwum vacate her position, emphasizing “RETIREES MUST GO.”
