Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo and midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana were among the Ghanaian players who found the net for their clubs over the weekend in Europe.
In England, Semenyo scored his fourth goal in five matches across all competitions as Manchester City fought back to secure a 2-2 draw away to Tottenham Hotspur. The goal marked his 12th Premier League strike of the season, having scored ten for Bournemouth earlier in the campaign and two since joining City.
In the Championship, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Jordan Ayew featured in Leicester City’s 2-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic. In League One, Andy Yiadom made a cameo appearance in Reading’s 2-0 win over Northampton. Meanwhile, in League Two, veteran forward Albert Adomah scored twice for Walsall in their 2-2 draw with Chesterfield.
In Spain, Kwasi Sibo played 70 minutes in Real Oviedo’s victory over Girona in La Liga, while Samuel Obeng saw 21 minutes of action for Albacete in their 2-0 win against Real Zaragoza in La Liga 2. Yussif Seidu also featured for Zaragoza, playing 39 minutes in the same match.
In Italy, Ibrahim Sulemana scored his first goal of the season for Cagliari in their emphatic 4-0 win over Hellas Verona in Serie A. Kamaldeen Sulemana played 73 minutes for Atalanta against Como, while Caleb Ekuban made an 11-minute appearance for Genoa in their 3-2 loss to Lazio.
In France, Nataniel Adjei featured for Lorient in their 2-1 win over Nantes, while Alidu Seidu played 34 minutes for Rennes in their 4-0 defeat to AS Monaco. Terry Yegbe lasted the full 90 minutes for Metz in their narrow loss to Angers. Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu both featured in Auxerre’s draw with Toulouse, while Kojo Peprah and Abdul Salis Samed were involved in Nice’s 2-2 draw with Brest. In Ligue 2, Augustine Boakye played in Saint-Étienne’s 1-0 loss to Boulogne.
In Germany, Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer played 73 minutes for Hamburg in their 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich. Derrick Arthur-Köhn featured for Union Berlin in their 3-1 defeat to Hoffenheim, while Patrick Pfeiffer played the full match in Darmstadt’s 2-2 draw against Hertha Berlin.
In Belgium, Joseph Doku featured for Zulte Waregem in their 1-0 loss to Westerlo, while Mohammed Fuseini made a brief appearance for Union Saint-Gilloise in their 1-0 win over Club Brugge. Jerry Afriyie played the full match for RAA La Louvière in their 1-1 draw with Gent.
In Cyprus, Clinton Duodu played 90 minutes for Omonia Nicosia in their 1-0 win over Apollon Limassol. Clifford Aboagye featured for Anorthosis in their 2-0 defeat to Chloraka, where Benson Anang and Braydon Marvin Manu were involved for the winning side. David Abagna also played the full match for APOEL Nicosia in their 2-0 win.
In Turkey, Jerome Opoku played the full match for İstanbul Başakşehir in their 2-2 draw with Rizespor. Nicholas Opoku featured for Kasımpaşa in their 1-0 defeat to Samsunspor, while Prince Obeng Ampem scored in Eyüpspor’s 3-1 win over Alanyaspor.
