Breaking: Ayawaso East MP Naser Toure Mahama has died

National Democratic Congress, (NDC) Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Nasser Toure Mahama has died. He died at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital today Sunday, January 4, 2025. The late MP according to family sources has been battling an unnamed chronic illness for some time now though was not bedridden. His condition however deteriorated leading to his admission at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital but unfortunately passed on today.

Accra News has gathered processes are underway for his remains to be brought home from the Korle Teaching Hospital for burial in accordance with Islamic principles.

The late Nasser Toure Mahama popularly known as Mark Naza has been representing the Ayawaso East constituency since it was split into North and East in 2012 till his demise.

He was the vice chairman for the Energy Committee of the 9th Parliament

He was 60 years old.

Naser Toure Mahama (born March 17, 1965) is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing the Ayawaso East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress. He is currently a member of the ninth parliament of the republic of Ghana.^[1]

Mahama was born on March 17, 1965. He hails from Nima-Accra, a town in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana.^[2] He went to the West Africa Senior High School. He entered Central University College, Ghana and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in marketing in 1987. He obtained his Diploma in Governance from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Doshisha University.

Mahama is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). In 2012, he contested for the Ayawaso East seat on the ticket of the NDC sixth parliament of the fourth republic and won.

2024 ELECTION

Naser Mahama Toure won the Parliamentary seat for Ayawaso East in the 2024 general election with total of 22,139 (70.85%) whiles his opponent Zak Rahman lost to him getting only 29.15% (9,110)
