The National Communications Authority (NCA) has confirmed that the increased DSTV subscription value packages implemented on October 1, 2025, remain in effect in Ghana.
In a statement dated December 31, the NCA said the stakeholder committee, chaired by the Minister for Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, continues to monitor the impact of the pricing adjustments. The committee includes representatives from the Ministry, NCA, and Multichoice.
The NCA noted that Ghanaians have largely responded positively, leading to a significant rise in DSTV subscriptions.
The statement also highlighted ongoing collaboration with the Cybersecurity Authority and other agencies to combat illegal streaming, which causes tax revenue losses, harms the creative industry, and exposes consumers to cyber threats like malware and phishing.
“The working group will continue its engagements to ensure that mutual commitments to the objectives are attained,” the NCA said, urging the public to remain vigilant against illegal streaming platforms.
