Stonebwoy Represents Africa- P-Square’s Peter Okoye

Half of the  iconic Nigerian music duo P-Square, Peter Okoye, has praised Ghanaian reggae and dancehall star Stonebwoy, describing him as a true representative of Africa on the global music stage.

Speaking to the media upon his arrival in Ghana ahead of Stonebwoy’s BhimFest celebrations, Peter Okoye expressed admiration for Stonebwoy’s artistry and authenticity. “Stonebwoy is a king of the stage. I’ve seen him perform and I’ve been with him in the studio. I can tell you that what he represents is real and good. He represents you guys accurately and, I would say, Africa in general,” he stated.

Peter Okoye revealed that he has publicly expressed his respect for Stonebwoy before and believes the Ghanaian artiste deserves protection because of his talent, discipline, and strong cultural values. He added that Stonebwoy’s music and personality project a positive image of Ghana and the African continent.

Sharing a personal experience, Peter recounted how Stonebwoy spontaneously began singing while he was casually playing guitar in the studio, unaware that the moment was being recorded. He described the experience as organic and inspiring, reinforcing his eagerness to collaborate with the Bhim Nation president.

He hinted that a collaboration nearly came to fruition after he personally reached out to Stonebwoy with a proposal to work on a song—an offer warmly received.

Stonebwoy is set to celebrate a decade of his Bhim brand with a major concert at the Accra Sports Stadium on December 24, featuring top local and international acts and attracting thousands of fans. The event commemorates ten years of Stonebwoy’s influential journey as one of Africa’s leading music exports.
