You’ll Be Arrested If You Show Up At Events With Weed, Cocaine – NACOC to Detty December Patrons

If you’re planning to ‘Detty’ yourself this December, do so within the limits of the law! This is because the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) is stepping up surveillance at nightclubs, entertainment venues, pubs, and public events nationwide throughout the festive season.

This move is part of NACOC’s ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse, trafficking, and the distribution of illicit substances during a time when social activities and large gatherings increase. By intensifying operations, the Commission aims to protect public health, safety, and security.

Working alongside other law enforcement and regulatory agencies, NACOC will focus on detecting and preventing the sale and use of illegal drugs, ensuring compliance with national narcotics laws, and educating venue operators and patrons on the dangers of drug abuse.

Venue owners, managers, and event organizers are urged to cooperate fully with authorized officers and to take proactive steps to keep their premises drug-free. Members of the public are also encouraged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug use or trafficking.

NACOC assures that all operations will be conducted professionally, with respect for human rights, while maintaining a firm stance against narcotics-related offenses. Together, we can ensure a safe, healthy, and enjoyable festive season for all.

PNCO Francis Opoku Amoah, Acting Director of Public Affairs and International Relations, emphasises that cooperation is key to a successful and safe celebration this holiday season.

So, go ahead and enjoy your festive Detty December—but remember, keeping it fun and safe and contraband-free; makes the celebration even sweeter!

Here’s to a joyful season filled with good vibes and great memories!
