Inter Miami has secured a one-year contract extension with Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez, keeping the veteran forward at the club through the end of the 2026 season. The extension follows Suárez’s outstanding 2025 campaign, during which his leadership and experience played a crucial role in Inter Miami’s MLS Cup victory and Eastern Conference Championship triumph.
Since joining Inter Miami ahead of the 2024 season, Suárez has been a key figure, scoring 42 goals and providing 30 assists in 87 appearances. His remarkable 2025 season saw him net 17 goals and deliver 17 assists in 50 matches, solidifying his place alongside fellow superstar Lionel Messi.
Inter Miami co-owner Jorge Mas praised Suárez’s dedication and expressed support for his decision to stay. “Luis deserves to be able to make that decision to leave through the front door and be celebrated like he should be by the club,” Mas said. “If he decides to stay for another year, it would be great. I would like to see Suárez stay.”
The contract extension boosts Inter Miami’s prospects as the club prepares to open its new stadium, Miami Freedom Park, on April 4, 2026, with a match against Austin FC. Suárez’s continued presence is expected to be a major factor in the team’s future success.
