Ghana Considers Diplomatic Measures Following Alleged Mistreatment of Ghanaian Travellers in Israel

Ghana is considering diplomatic and reciprocal actions after several Ghanaian travellers reportedly faced mistreatment upon arrival in Israel. The travellers were detained for hours, and some were subsequently deported—a move the Ghanaian government has described as “unfairly targeting” and “humiliating treatment.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has rejected Israel’s justification for the deportations as “totally untenable” and issued a strong protest. Officials from the Israeli Embassy in Accra are expected to be summoned to express Ghana’s displeasure over the incident.

The Ministry also revealed that Ghana is contemplating “appropriate reciprocal action” against Israeli travellers entering Ghana.
