The Ministry of Interior has launched a full-scale investigation into claims of assassination attempts on Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, following disclosures by Samuel Appiah Darko, Director of Strategy, Research, and Communications at the Office of the Special Prosecutor.
Mr. Darko made the allegations during an appearance on the television programme Newsfile on December 6, 2025. He also claimed that he was handcuffed and beaten by 17 police officers.
According to the ministry, it contacted Mr Kissi Agyebeng, who confirmed that the alleged assassination attempts occurred before this year. The Ministry added that there are no records or reports of such threats against his life filed with any police station or state security agency.
In addition, the Ministry has ordered an investigation into Mr. Darko’s claim of being handcuffed and assaulted by police personnel.
