The Headmaster of Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School, Joshua Vidzro, has been directed to step aside with immediate effect following serious allegations of sexual misconduct involving female students.
The directive, issued by the Ghana Education Service (GES) under instructions from its Director-General, requires Mr Vidzro to hand over all official duties to the Ketu North Municipal Director of Education as investigations commence.
Mr Vidzro faces accusations of impregnating a final-year student. Additionally, a 14-year-old first-year student alleges that he took her off-campus to have sexual intercourse.
The GES statement further directs Mr Vidzro to vacate the school premises and avoid any contact with the female students involved.
The statement emphasises that this action is an administrative measure and does not imply a presumption of guilt.
