Accra News Online can confirm that reliable sources at the Presidency have revealed that seven petitions seeking the removal of Electoral Commission Chairperson Jean Mensa and her two deputies, Dr. Bossman Asare and Samuel Tettey, have been formally referred to the Chief Justice, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, for further action.
In addition, three separate petitions seeking the removal of Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng have also been submitted for review.
The Presidency stated that President John Mahama’s referral of these 10 petitions is in accordance with Article 70(2) of the 1992 Constitution.
