Kuntunse: DVLA shuts down operations as private partner pulls out

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has halted its operations in Kuntunse. An expatriate landlord has evicted the private partner of the Authority for reportedly failing to pay rent and utility bills for 17 years.

According to sources, the landlord had been solely bearing the costs of purchasing fuel during power outages and maintaining the facility, which he uses as a vehicle inspection garage.

The DVLA has consequently relocated some of its operations to an undisclosed location.

This development is expected to leave thousands of stakeholders, particularly drivers in Amasaman, Kuntunse, and neighbouring communities, facing significant disruption.
