Head trainer of Ghana’s Black Queens, Kim Lars Björkegren has called up 24 players for the upcoming international friendly encounter against the Lionesses of England next month at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
The roster sees a mixture of experienced players with young talent, with Anesthesia Achiaa staging a cone back to the squad to strengthen the defence.
Elsewhere, Servette Geneve FC player, Benedictè Simon has received a debut call-up and a perfect opportunity for her to bring her experience to the fore.
The upcoming friendly will serve as a test for head coach Kim Lars and his girls to test their strength and pores as well getting in top shape ahead of next year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Championship in Morocco next year March.
Under his supervision Swedish coach, Kim Lars led Ghana to a bronze medal finish at the WAFCON tournament in Morocco some months ago after defeating South Africa on penalties in the 3rd place game.
To top it all Kim Lars was able to qualify the Black Queens to next year’s WAFCON tournament in Morocco after dismantling the Cleopatra’s of Egypt 7-0 over two legs with Doris Boaduwaa snatching a hat trick in Accra.
