Dr. Martin Kolbil Yamborigya is new GRA Commissioner of Domestic Tax Revenue Division

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Martin Kolbil Yamborigya as the Acting Commissioner of the Domestic Tax Revenue Division (DTRD) of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA). The appointment of Dr. Yamborigya takes effect on Monday, 17th November 2025.

Dr. Yamborigya will take over from retired Edward Apenteng Gyambrah. Dr. Yamborigya comes to the position with over two decades of experience in Ghana Revenue Administration as a distinguished Tax Administrator and Public Finance Expert. He has demonstrated exceptional leadership in key areas such as Domestic Tax Policy, Compliance Management, and Revenue Mobilization, contributing significantly to the transformation and modernization of the GRA.

According to a statement from GRA, Dr. Yamborigya before his latest appointment held several senior management positions within the GRA, including: Audit Team Leader for the Tax Audit Unit, Head of Audit at the Legon Medium Taxpayer Office, Head of Post Clearance Audit, DTRD, Head of Audit for Special Audits (Audit Factory).

He was also the Acting Assistant Commissioner at the Commissioner DTRD’s Secretariat and Assistant Commissioner and Head of Tax Audit at the Large Taxpayer Office (LTO)

A New Era for GRA
The appointment of Dr. Yamborigya is expected to bring renewed energy to the GRA, driving efforts to enhance tax compliance, utilize digital solutions, and strengthen collaboration with stakeholders to boost Ghana’s domestic revenue mobilization. The management and staff of the GRA congratulate Dr. Yamborigya on his new role and wish him success in his tenure as Acting Commissioner of the DTRD.
