40 Subjects, 40 Exams, 2,500 Lectures, 8,000 Study Hours, 1,000+ Cases – The 5-Year Battle Behind Serwaa Amihere’s Call to the Bar

Ghana travel guide

Her journey was nothing short of demanding: 40 subjects, 40 rigorous exams, over 2,500 lecture hours, more than 8,000 hours of private study and group discussions, and the review of over 1,000 judicial decisions.

She devoured volumes of textbooks, monographs, and legal enactments—armed with pens, markers, highlighters, and sticky notes through sleepy days and sleepless nights.

On October 10, 2025, she joined a new batch of lawyers called to the Bar, marking her transition from broadcaster to barrister. The ceremony brought together members of the Judiciary, General Legal Council, distinguished lawyers, and well-wishers from the media and entertainment industry, as social media erupted in celebration of her achievement.

A Journey Beyond the Spotlight

Known for commanding screens as a news anchor and host at Accra-based GHOne TV, Serwaa quietly pursued her legal studies, culminating in her graduation from the Ghana School of Law.

Before law, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Finance from Methodist University College in 2013 and later completed her LLB at GIMPA with second-class upper honors. Her relentless drive eventually carried her through the rigours of the Ghana School of Law.

The Grind Behind the Glamour

What the public saw was the glamour. What they didn’t see was the grind.
According to Serwaa, the journey demanded silent sacrifices, pressure-filled moments, and unwavering focus—hidden from the public for half a decade.

Taking to her social media handle after her call, she expressed profound gratitude:

“This is the aspect of my life I have carefully kept away from the public in the last five years. Thanks to God, my family, and everyone who stood by me through it all. To a new chapter.”
