Corruption stalling Ghana’s development- Togbe Afede

The Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, Togbe Afede XIV, has flagged corruption as the biggest drawback to Ghana’s progress.

According to the traditional leader cum businessman, honesty and integrity have become a rare commodity in the country.

Addressing this year’s Asogli Yam Festival on Sunday October 5, Togbe Afede underscored the importance of honesty and integrity in ensuring national progress.

He charged political and traditional leaders to uphold truthfulness as an essential pillar for building a progressive and prosperous society. Togbe Afede revealed the theme for the festival was carefully chosen to reflect the need for the return of society to days of honesty.

“Corruption has been a stumbling block to our development and it is the result of our inability to hold on to the path of truth, the path of strictest honesty.

“That is why the theme for today’s durbar focuses on honesty, focuses on unity, peace and prosperity. Together in unity and prosperity we build a just, peaceful, prosperous nation,” Togbe Afede stated.
