GAF to Recruit 12k over next 3 years, Cost of Forms Reduced by 40%- Brogya Genfi

The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) will for the next 3 years recruit 12,000 personnel as part of a massive expansion drive. This according to Deputy Minister for Defence Ernest Brogya Genfi is “to reinforce our national defence capabilities”. According to Mr. Genfi the drive which starts this week will see cost of forms dropped by 40% in line with the commitment of President Mahama to affordability, accessibility and fairness.
“In line with H.E. the President and Commander-in-Chief John Dramani Mahama commitment to affordability, accessibility and fairness, the cost of the recruitment forms has been reduced by over 40% compared to the last recruitment.” Mr. Genfi stated in a Facebook post.
He further revealed the recruitment will take place across all the 16 regions to give opportunity to all.
“In addition to the huge cut in the cost of recruitment form, the recruitment will take place across all regions, ensuring equal opportunity and national inclusion.”
Brogya Genfi warned the recruitment is not for sale and thus persons found to be extorting money from unsuspecting potential recruits will be dealt with.
“Let this be clear: Recruitment into the Ghana Armed Forces is NOT for sale—and will NEVER be for sale under our #EagleEyes watch. Any individual or syndicate involved in fraudulent recruitment schemes will be dealt with without mercy.”
He assured the exercise will be transparent and professional adding no recruitment will be done on social media.
“Take Note that no recruitment will take place on social media. The process will be transparent and professional. All qualified applicants must be medically fit and be prepared to abandon all hope of normal life!”
According to him all the application qualification, procedure and regional centers will be announced within the week through the Ministry of Defence Ghana website, Ghana Armed Forces website, selected newspapers and electronic platforms.
He concluded with the assurance the Ghana Armed Forces will be built in a way that reflects “the strength, discipline, and unity of Ghana.”
