The Central Regional Police Command is on a manhunt for six suspects who escaped lawful custody at the Kotokuraba police station.
According to the Central Regional Police Command, on September 11, 2025, at approximately 9:00pm, the District Police Commander reported that six out of eight suspects—Kofi Asifuah, Ernest Kojo, Ekow Arhinful, Toffic Faisal, Henry Kwofie, and Innusah Addai—escaped custody. The suspects had been arrested for various criminal offenses.
Reports reveal that at about 8:40 pm, the supervising inspector at the police station sent the station orderly to buy food for the inmates after they complained of hunger. The suspects later requested water to flush the toilets as the taps were not flowing. When the inspector opened the cell doors to provide water, six of the eight suspects overpowered him and fled.
The District Commander immediately led a night patrol team in search of the escaped suspects, but efforts to recapture them have so far been unsuccessful.
The Central Regional Police Command is appealing to the general public to assist by providing any credible information that could lead to the recapture of the suspects. Members of the public are urged to report any leads to the nearest police station
