Tempane MP condemns clashes at Ghana-Togo border

The Member of Parliament for Tempane Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba has condemned the clashes between Factions at Kongo, a border community in the Tempane District of the Upper East Region.

Land dispute between the Bimoba and Fulani Communities led to attacks and burning of some property in the area.

Several houses were burnt down in the process while some people also sustained injuries following the clashes.

The Member of Parliament for Tempane in statement condemned the act and called for calm in the area. “I unequivocally condemn this unfortunate and regrettable act of violence. Our communities have long been known for coexistence, mutual respect, and shared values of peace and tolerance. It is therefore distressing that such misunderstanding could escalate to a destruction of properties and bodily harm”. she stated.
