Minister for Food and Agriculture Eric Opoku has held talks with Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II over the sector. The engagement took place at the Manhyia Palace when the minister paid a courtesy call on the Asantehe as part of his working visit to the Ashanti Region on Friday, June 12th, 2025.
According to the minister, the visit was “to seek his blessings as I engage the region on government initiatives, including the Feed Ghana Programme, aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and food security.”
Eric Opoku has been touring the country to engage stakeholders on government’s flagship initiatives in the Agric sector aimed at not just making Ghana food sufficient but all ensuring economic transformation through the sector.
During the engagement Otumfuo emphasized agriculture’s crucial role in economic development, noting its impact on industrialization, and advised on initiatives to attract more youth to the sector.
