Embattled Abura Dunkwa Gyasehene, Nana Obo Kwefuah IV, has asked the public to ignore claims that he had been destooled by the Odompem Adwenadze Royal Family in the Central Region.
The head of the royal family, Abusuapanyin Kwame Essoun, had led the purported destoolment rites, citing, among other reasons, the Gyasehene’s alleged involvement in a marital relationship with a fetish priestess, which they claimed contravened traditional customs.
However, Nana Obo Kwefuah IV has strongly refuted these claims. Speaking to Kasapa FM, he explained that he had been married to and living with the fetish priestess for four years, with the knowledge and blessings of the community. “For four years I have lived with this woman and have performed the required rites. He even led us to perform the rituals for marrying priestesses before I started living with her,” he stated.
The Gyasehene also described the Abusuapanyin as a litigious character who makes arbitrary decisions. “My Abusuapanyin is a litigious character who does not discuss resolutions. He takes a decision and ignores everybody else. Out of more than 200 people, only six cannot destool me,” he said.
He called on the public to disregard the alleged destoolment, noting that the matter has now been brought before the Omanhene of Dunkwa. “Now the matter has been brought before the Omanhene of Dunkwa, yet he is going around granting interviews. This is wrong. That is why I have to break my silence. He claims I have accused him of sleeping with my wife, which is false because there is no proof indicating that,” Nana Obo Kwefuah IV added.
