Ghana has taken a bold step in its industrialisation drive with the commissioning of the B5 Plus Steel Ball Mill and Section Mill Manufacturing Plant.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah described the project as a defining shift from raw material export to value-added industrial production.
The modern facility will produce steel balls for mining and structural steel sections for infrastructure — reducing imports, conserving foreign exchange and strengthening Ghana’s manufacturing base.
The investment aligns with the Government’s 24-Hour Economy agenda, promoting import substitution, downstream mineral integration and sustainable industrial growth.
“Extraction without processing is incomplete development,” the Minister stated.
The plant is expected to create skilled jobs, support infrastructure expansion and position Ghana as an emerging manufacturing hub in West Africa.
Ghana is moving beyond extraction — and building industrial power.
