Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been charged with two additional counts of rape, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed.
Partey, 32, previously pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and one charge of sexual assault at Southwark Crown Court in September 2025. The new allegations relate to non-recent offences in 2020 involving a different woman, first reported in August 2025 following a separate Metropolitan Police investigation.
The midfielder, who now plays for Spanish side Villarreal after leaving Arsenal last year, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 13 in connection with the fresh charges.
The original five counts of rape and one sexual assault charge are alleged to have occurred between 2021 and 2022, while Partey was still an Arsenal regular. He left the Premier League club on June 30, 2025, and was charged four days later.
Partey, currently on bail, is scheduled for trial in November 2026. Despite the charges, he has been allowed to continue playing, including internationally for Ghana, who are set to face England at the World Cup on June 23 in Boston.
