Baba Jamal Files Nomination to Contest Ayawaso East Seat

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso East by-election, Baba Jamal Ahmed Mohammed, has officially filed his nomination papers at the Greater Accra Regional Office of the Electoral Commission (EC).

Baba Jamal’s filing comes after the party’s National Functional Executive Committee cleared him to contest the by-election, despite allegations of vote buying that emerged during the NDC’s parliamentary primary held on February 7.

Addressing supporters ahead of the submission, Baba Jamal thanked the NDC leadership for the clearance, describing it as an important milestone in his political journey and a signal of the party’s readiness to move forward with unity and purpose.

“I thank you all very much. The National Functional Executive Committee has cleared me to go and file my papers. We went with a massive crowd to the Electoral Commission to submit my nomination,” he said.

When he completed the process, the former High Commissioner to Nigeria pledged to work for the betterment of the constituency and the party.

Supporters, in turn, cheered the filing, pledging their continued support and solidarity.
