Spain To Host 2030 World Cup Grand Finale Says RFEF President

Rafael Louzán, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), has confirmed Spain will host the 2030 World Cup final, citing the country’s proven organisational capacity. He made the announcement at the Madrid Sports Press Association gala, saying, “Spain will lead the World Cup and the final will be played here”.

This decision comes after controversy surrounding the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final in Morocco, which Louzán referenced as an example of what Spain aims to avoid. The 2030 World Cup is a joint effort between Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, with Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay hosting inaugural matches.

Potential venues for the final include Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and Barcelona’s Camp Nou, both with capacities exceeding 80,000 seats. Morocco had also expressed interest in hosting the final at its under-construction Hassan II Stadium.
