Manchester United Sink Arsenal with Late Cunha Strike

Manchester United stunned Arsenal with a dramatic 3–2 victory at the Emirates Stadium, cutting the Gunners’ lead at the top of the Premier League table to four points.

Arsenal took an early lead through a Lisandro Martinez own goal, but United responded before halftime when Bryan Mbeumo capitalised on a defensive lapse by Martin Zubimendi to level the score.

The second half belonged largely to the visitors. Patrick Dorgu put United ahead with a stunning volley, before Arsenal hit back late through Mikel Merino to restore parity and raise hopes of a draw.

However, those hopes were dashed when Matheus Cunha struck a sensational 25-yard effort in the closing moments to secure all three points for United, sparking wild celebrations among the travelling supporters.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta admitted his side made costly mistakes, saying they “gave them a goal, which is unusual and painful,” while praising United’s quality, adding that “they scored two brilliant goals.”
