Fourteen (14) suspected drug users have been arrested by the Nkawkaw Police Command during a swoop conducted alongside a demolition exercise.
The operation targeted persons allegedly engaging in illegal activities around the demolition site. According to police sources, the suspects were caught smoking substances believed to be Indian hemp and obstructing the exercise.
The Municipal Chief Executive Officer (MCE) for Kwahu West Municipality, Tamimu Halidu, confirmed the arrests to the media, stating that all seventeen suspects are currently in police custody and will undergo screening before being arraigned in court.
He emphasized that the police remain committed to maintaining law and order during such operations and warned residents against using demolition or construction activities as cover for criminal behavior.
