The Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET) has released the provisional results for the 2026 May/June Certificate II and other technical examinations.
A total of 61,506 candidates, comprising 45,357 males and 16,149 females, sat for the examinations, representing an 11.23% increase over the 55,295 candidates recorded in 2025.
Out of the candidates who sat for the examinations, 36,874 obtained general passes, representing approximately 62.4%.
The Certificate II examinations covered core subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies and Entrepreneurship, alongside elective components in various trade and professional areas.
CTVET said the results of six candidates had been withheld pending investigations into suspected examination malpractice.
“The results of some candidates have also been withheld due to administrative issues and will be released once the issues have been resolved.”
Candidates have been advised to check their results online using their Index Numbers and Unique Reference Numbers provided on their index slips.
The 2026 examinations formed part of ongoing reforms to harmonise technical and vocational education and assessment across Ghana’s TVET institutions. The Commission has been working to strengthen the sector’s alignment with industry needs and improve the quality of skills training.
Before the 2026 examinations, CTVET announced that 61,506 candidates were expected to participate, including candidates from public and private TVET institutions across the country. The examinations were conducted from May 18 to June 12, 2026.
CTVET’s latest TVET sector report also shows a broader increase in participation in Certificate II examinations in recent years, with the number of candidates sitting the May/June examination rising from 18,788 in 2018 to 48,338 in 2025.
