Members of Parliament, party executives, stalwarts and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have picked nomination forms for Henry Nana Boakye to contest the party’s National First Vice Chairman position.
The nomination forms were picked during a brief exercise attended by party supporters and executives who expressed their backing for the bid.
The group said the NPP needs what they described as a “Nana B spirit” at a critical phase in Ghana’s political landscape.
They cited what they described as Nana Boakye’s courage and boldness, particularly in what they characterised as a period of harassment and suppression of free speech under the NDC government.
According to the group, his experience and leadership qualities would make him a strong addition to the NPP’s national leadership as First Vice Chairman.
They have appealed to NPP delegates to overwhelmingly endorse Nana Boakye’s bid and help position the party for the 2028 general elections.
